Message from the President

Ever since the company was founded back in 1977, we at ASTRODESIGN have always been at the forefront of the electronics industry, keeping our heads clear and focused as technological innovation surges relentlessly forward at a dizzying speed. In truth, we have our customers to thank for enabling us to achieve this important milestone. Throughout the three decades of our operations, we have rigorously adhered to ASTRODESIGN’s motto of “advancing side by side with our customers for the benefit of our customers,” and we have unerringly sought to make products that will contribute to expanding the business of our customers.
Since the time when we were the first company in the world to come up with a programmable signal generator, we have always incorporated the latest technology into such devices as multiplexing systems for digital broadcasts and waveform monitors, and more recently even into super high-definition video processing systems which added color to Aichi Exposition. All in all, we have consistently pursued the development of unique products which stand in a category of their own.

Industry observers expect the diversification of the technology dedicated to showing images on displays and its manifestation in displays of larger and larger sizes as well as the sophistication and multiplicity of the functions incorporated by the TVs and other end products which use this technology to continue to advance at a rapid clip for as long as there are people who seek to view images which are more esthetically pleasing and closer to reality. Also in the world of broadcast technology which is currently the scene of a major transformation triggered by the commencement of terrestrial digital broadcasting, so-called “one segment broadcasting” (a terrestrial digital TV broadcast service designed to be received by cell phones) had come into practical application. As a related development, the day is soon coming when TV broadcasts will be distributed over the Internet, and the two worlds of broadcasting technology and communications technology will be joined together in an even tighter embrace.
Against this backdrop, ASTRODESIGN’s goal is simple: To meet the needs of a market which sees advances on a virtually daily basis and which is undergoing constant change. We will reach this goal by drawing on our mainstay high-speed digital signal processing technology which we have fostered over many years and by giving full rein both to our ability to master the various signal standards that will successively be generated and to our knowledge of how to incorporate our expertise into our products. In short, we at ASTRODESIGN aim to come up with not only stand-alone products but also solutions and systems which satisfy the requirements of our customers whether for display, transmission and broadcast testing applications or for standard interfaces or higher image quality levels.
Grounded in the conviction that the raison d’etre of a corporation lies in making contributions to society on a permanent basis and ensuring that society is benefited by the contributions of that corporation, ASTRODESIGN will be striving to achieve customer satisfaction under the watchwords of sophisticated functions and high quality, and it will be marshalling the resources of every one of the employees in its work force to develop products that will help respond to the dreams and quicken the heartbeat of society at large. We approach the future full of hope especially as many members of the younger generation who resonate with our development policies have chosen to join our ranks over the last few years. While tapping into the talents and ideas of our youthful teams of engineers and developers who are brimming with the spirit of enterprise, we hope to fully meet the expectations and win the undivided support of our customers, present and future, as we take our operations to the next level.
