ASTRODESIGN, Inc. (Head office: Tokyo, President: Shigeaki Suzuki) has released the new cross converter (SC-8229), which supports 2K, 4K, and 8K formats and incorporates color gamut and dynamic range conversion by 3D LUT. SC-8229 is a cross converter device that up-converts and down-converts various 8K (7680 x 4320), 4K (3840 x 2160), and HD (1920 x 1080) video signals. In order to realize a simple system configuration for simultaneous production of 8K/4K and HD, resolution and color gamut / dynamic range conversion are handled in one unit. An option that supports “SR Live for HDR”* is also available. *”SR Live for HDR” is a solution put forward by Sony Imaging Products & Solutions Inc. that enables simultaneous and efficient production of HDR / SDR video. We propose use application for a wide range of video production sites such as location and relay for show production, studio sub and broadcast vehicles for broadcast stations, video editing rooms.
